History
Crossbeck house was built about 1820 and was first occupied by Miss Lambton who was the aunt of the Earl of Durham.
Mrs Fleming, mother of Major Charles Lionel-Ward Jackson, the last squire of Normanby Hall, lived in Crossbeck House in 1899.
For most of the twentieth century it was the convent of the Sisters of Mercy, who kindly offered it to The Zöe's Place Trust for use as a Baby Hospice and Zöe's Place began.
Refurbishment started in December 2001 and ten new rooms were created downstairs. The babies area has five themed rooms with six therapy cots as well as a large Nursery activity area, a soft play area and, the very popular light sensory room.
