The Building
The Sisters of Mercy offered the Building to Zoë's Place Trust for use as a Baby Hospice in 2000.Refurbishment started in December 2001 and ten new rooms were created downstairs. The babies area has five themed rooms with six therapy cots as well as a large play area, a soft play area and, the very popular light sensory room.
There is a staff common room, utility room, administration area and a very large meeting/conference room.
On the first floor there is a self contained apartment available for use by the families. This comprises of two family bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge, shower room, a disabled toilet and an appropriately furnished "bereavement room". Experience has shown that this is a huge help to grieving parents and families, at a time which without doubt, is one of the worst moments of their lives.
In addition there is also a beautiful calming peaceful chapel.
There are also further office facilities and storage space located on the first floor.
